The manufact ure of video mini-cassettes is one of the examples of successful application of the nanomaterials and nanotechnology.The fundamental principles of oblique evap oration of nanometals and the columnar structure of metal-evaporated (ME) video tape are presented.In accordance with the flow chart of ME tape production the requirements of raw materials and the process technology are clarified.The char acteristics of ME tapes are contrasted with the common VHS tapes.Finally,the rec ent development in this respect is described.
