21世纪以来,我国经济社会快速发展,带动了钢铁工业和铁矿需求的高速增长,国内铁矿资源保证程度下降.受美国次贷危机影响,2009年我国钢铁产业将进入新世纪第一个低谷,但我国今后对钢铁的需求仍将巨大.我国有较大的铁矿找矿潜力,东部500m以深还有很大找矿空间,西部部分地区甚至是勘查空白.在很多已知矿集区和铁矿找矿远景区,都有很大的找矿潜力.对铁矿石的高位需求、较大的铁矿资源潜力和次贷危机,对新一轮铁矿勘查提出了机遇和挑战.新一轮铁矿勘查布局应为:东部以重点成矿区带隐伏矿找矿为主,西部以重要成矿区带新区找矿为主,加强大中型铁矿山深部和外围的找矿.同时,要加强铁矿成矿理论和勘查技术方法研究,加强航磁数据更新和资料二次开发,努力创新地质勘查机制.

Since the beginning of 21 century, Chinese rapid economic development has driven high-rate increase of steel industry and demand and supply of iron ore. As a result, iron resource guarantee degree has been decreasing. China's steel industry will firstly access to low affected by the United States sub-loan crisis in 2009, but in future China demand for steel will remain the great. Greater potential for iron ore prospecting exists, including 500 meters below to the surface in the Estern China unexploration area in the metallogenic belts of the The Western China, and many known mineral concentration area. High demand for iron ore, the larger potential of iron resources and sub-loan crisis provide opportunities and challenges for new round iron exploration. The new round iron ore exploration should target the conceal ore deposit in the The Estern China, new found prospective zones of key Metallogenic belts in the The Western China, and the deep as well as peripherals of large and medium known iron deposit. More importantly, we should strengthen the iron ore-forming theory and method of prospecting techniques, to enhance aeromagnetic data and information updating and the secondary development, and explore and set up innovative mechanisms for geological exploration.
