The presence of human parvovirus B19(B19) in plasma-derived products indicates a potential risk of B19 transmission,and especially,B19 may be transmitted by transfusion of the contaminated plasma and plasma-derived products in susceptible individuals. It is believed that B19 is more resistant to common physicochemical inactivation methods. However,the various studies show that B19 is more sensitive to heat and low pH treatment. So suitable methods may be selected to inactivate B19.
