Objective To explore the effects of washing solution at two different temperaure on body temperaure in patients undergoing transurethal vaporization of the prostate. Methods A total of 57 patients undergoing transurethal vaporization of the prostate were randomly divided into warm washing solution group ( n=29 ) and room-temperaure washing solution group ( n =28 ).The former group received washing solution at 30 to 35 ℃ during surgical treatment, while the latter group received solution at 20 to 25℃.The core temperaure and shivering response were observed. Results The core temperaure was higher in the warm solution group than in the room- temperaure group ( P< 0.05 ).The incidence rate of shivering response was lower in the warm solution group than in the room-temperaure group ( 13.8% vs 46.4%,P < 0.01 ).Conclusions The application of warm washing solution in transurethal vaporization of the prostate plays a role in the prevention ofintraoperative hypothermia in patients.
