Automatic transfer switching equipment which ensure the power supply continuity as the typical device of low-voltage power distribution, its short circuit performance index impact the system reliability directly. The rated short time withstand current, rated short time making capacity and rated conditional short circuit current were analyzed, the importance and fair use of ATSE's short circuit performance index in system reliability design were also discribed.
