Based on the dispersive relation of TE modes in three slab waveguide, the properties of electromagnetic mode in asymmetric three slab waveguide with left-hand materials as covering layer and right-hand materials as other layer was investigated. The resuits show that, TE0 exists when the structural parameters of it satisfies certain conditions, and the bigger the asymmetric factor a becomes, the higher the cut-off frequency will be.
