The effects of cadmium on karat gold brazing alloys and alloying mechanism were summarized in this paper. The typical composition and melting temperature range of 9kt~22kt colored and white carat gold brazing alloys developed in recent years were given. It was pointed out that the development of Cd-free brazing alloy series with good performance, standardization and commercialization may be the orientation of carat gold jewelry application in the future.
