新近在肺癌和乳腺癌的研究中发现的Ras相关区域家族1A(Ras-association domain family 1A,RASSF1A)基因位于染色体3p21.3,是一种新型的肿瘤抑制基因(tumor suppressor gene,TSG).研究表明,RASSF1A主要通过介导细胞凋亡、阻断细胞周期进展等机制发挥抑癌作用,而该基因的表遗传失活与肺癌等多种恶性肿瘤的发生、发展和预后密切相关.同时其高甲基化的启动子可能是一种新的肿瘤标记物,可应用于肿瘤的诊断、治疗及其他众多领域,有着广阔的临床应用前景.

RASSF1A is one of the most important transcripts of Ras-association Domain Family 1 (RASSF1)Gene,which is localized at chromosome 3p21.3.RASSFlA has been identified as a new tumor suppressor gene(TSG)due to its carcinoma preventive effect found in the recent studies of lung and breast cancers.It indicates that the loss of RASSFlA mRNA expression correlates well with the occurrence and development of lung cancer and several other human tumors.As the methylation of RASSF1A promoter region CpG island is an important event in the epigenetic inactivation of the gene,which can be detected in body fluids of patients.Hypermethylation of RASSFlA promoter can possibly be used as a new tumor marker,applying to the early cancer diagnosis,treatment,prognosis and many other fields,so RASSF1A gene will have a broad clinical application prospect.
