通过植物学性状观察和RAPD技术鉴定证明新疆天山野生草莓为绿色草莓( Fragaria viridis Duch.)，表明中国自然分布的草莓野生种达到9个。绿色草莓在分类学上的典型特征为匍匐茎上从第二节开始每节均形成幼苗；花序直立、高于叶面，花瓣显露时呈黄绿色，雄蕊花丝细长，高于雌蕊；果实圆形或扁圆形，淡绿色，阳面略红，果硬，成熟时萼片紧贴，脱萼难。

Fragaria viridis Duch.，the green strawberry，was found in Tianshan Mountains，Xinjiang，Northwest of China，and was certified by observat ion of classificatory traits and RAPD analysis. The species of the strawberr y genus Fragaria distributed in China would be up to 9 as for its addition.C ompared to other species，the differential traits of F.　vi ridis were：the runner belongs to one special type，that is，it bears a scaly leaf on only the first node of the runner(the node nearest to the mother stock)a nd the second and subsequent nodes have a normal leaf and adventitious roots；in florescence is erect and higher than leaf level；the petals usually somewhat yel lowish-greenish when opening，stamens are longer than in F.　vesca；fruit is round or oblate，green，greenish-white to red(in the sun)w hen ripe and firm；calyx is clasping and hard to separate.
