1998年在江苏丰县系统调查了棉铃虫卵在不同生育期玉米上的垂直分布和水平分布。表明棉铃虫在抽雄扬花期以前的玉米上产卵,2代期间叶片正面占总卵量的93.5%,茎杆上占6.5%,3代期间叶片正面占89.5%,茎杆上占10.5%;抽雄扬花期主要产在雄穗和新鲜的雌蕊花丝上,分别占59.1%和26.9%,叶片正面和茎杆上分别只占11.1%和2.9%。抽雄扬花后有97.5%的卵产在雌蕊花丝上,叶片和茎杆上为0.5%和2.0%。第3代棉铃虫卵期,抽雄扬花期的玉米对卵的分流作用约为抽雄扬花前玉米的3倍,抽雄扬花后的玉米对卵的分流作用最小。

Systemic investigation of both vertical and horizontal distribution of eggs of Helicoverpa armigera on corn during three growing stages were carried out. The results indicated that before male heading 95% of eggs oviposited during the second generation was laid on the upper side of the maize leaf and 6.5% on the stem, while during the third generation of the same growing stage, 89.5% on the leaf upper side and 10.5% on the stem. But during the period of male heading, 59.1% of the eggs was laid on male ear,26.1% on fresh pistils,11.1% on the upper side of the leaf, and 2.9% on the stem. However, about 97.5% of eggs was laid on pistils of the maize, and 2.0% and 0.5% was on the upper side of leaf and stem respectively after heading. When the eggs of the third generation were being laid, the sum of the eggs on the maize while heading is 2 times more than before heading. In the tree growth stages, the number of the eggs after heading is the least.
