This article introduces the construction and application of data bank of general surgery in clinical teaching in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College.The data bank of general surgery should be extensive,progressive,open and interactive.It can be used for teaching,learning and publishing.The combination of data bank and clinical practice can close the traditional model of surgical teaching while it would be developed in the clinical teaching.
