This study gives a brief introduction to the significance, theoretical and technique programs of grading, classification and evaluation technique of farmland.At the same time, the application of spatial database, space target buffer, spatial data adding and many other GIS techniques in the grading, classification and evaluation of farmland is explored.And the obtained achievements are analyzed.It is thought that the use of GIS for the grading, classification and evaluation of farmland has full expressed its advantages of integration of figures and attributes, thus improving the scientificity, reliability and objectivity of this work to some extents.
