To fulfill China-Ⅲ stage emission regulation, the MD&HD diesel engines adopt the measure to delay fuel injection, causing soot-in-oil increasement sharply and lubrication oil deterioration earlier. The formation mechanism of soot-in-oil in the China-Ⅲ CR diesel engine was explained theoretically. From the matching principle of diesel engine combustion system, the countermeasures were discussed. Optimizing injection end timing and the shape of combustion bowl lip may effectively solve above problem. These countermeasures were validated on a real 9 L China-Ⅲ CR engine. The lubrication oil examination results indicate there is only soot content of 0.43 % in lubrication oil after 30 h engine running, far below the limit recommended by AVL.
