The improved pasture productivity(by Lolium perenne, Dactylsi glomerata and Tri folium re pens )and goat performance were studied under 4 different stocking rates(7.5,15,30 and 45 goat/ha), in order to explore a suitable stocking rate. The results showed that the stocking rate had significant effects on herbage present and goat performance (P〈0.05). There were linearly negative correlations between herbage present (Yh ,g/m2) and stocking rate(S) ;Average daily gain(Ya)and stocking rate(S)showed linearly negative correlations too;The relationships between stocking rate and gain per hectare meet quadratic correlations. The stocking rates in maximum gain per hectare were 10.7 and 30.3 goat/ha, the maximum herbage present were 134.1 g/m2 and 153.8 g/m2 in winter-spring and summer-autumn seasons respectively. The results indicated that the proper pasture utilization rate was 35.7% in winter-spring season and 65.7% in summer-autumn season.
