This paper is divided into three parts. Part I imposes the question that whether the discoveries of Daqing and other oilfields are irrelevant to Li＇s theories of geomechanics, as stated by Min Yu in a speech that was recorded in The Conference Bulletin of China Association for Science and Technology, to which Jiang Qikai, who was also a representative to the conference, referred while responding that there was a record error; Part II clarifies the fact that Huang Jiqing did suggest that the discoveries of Daqing and other oilfields were irrelevant to Li＇s theories of geomechanics; Part III analyzes the article On the lrrelavance of the Discoveries of Daqing and Other Oiltields to Li＇s Theories of Geomechanics by Zhang Lisheng. In fact, Li Siguang have indeed claimed it necessary to search for oil in neocathaysian subsiding belts, a point he emphasiced both in The Geology of China, which was a collection of his lectures for eight U.K. universities in 1935, and in his report to the State Oil General Administration on March 1, 1954, entitled The Prospecting Perspective of Chinese Oil Resources in the View of Geotectonics. Since Daqing oilfield is doubtlessly located within the neocathaysian subsiding belt, how can we say that its discovery is irrelevant to Li＇s theories of geomechanics？
