A new method for measuring the refractive index is proposed, and the variation law of interference fringe gulp back or spit out is obtained by analyzing the difference of optical path in the experimental of Michelson interferometer. In addition, we proposed a new method for measuring medium dispersion with the interference principle, and clarified the fuzzy concept in whitelight interferometry experiment.
