A simple and efficient approach was provided to synthesis keto-ionone with the combination of relatively low-cost pyridinium ionic liquids,simple copper salt,and terminal oxidant tert-butyl hydroperoxide.The results showed that the yield of 3-keto-α-ionone and 4-keto-β-ionone were up to 70% and 56% respectively.Furthermore,the recovery and reuse of the catalyst(CuCl/[Bpy]BF_4) could be performed at least five cycles.
