The electro-hydraulic servo testing instrument and the longer swing hammer dynamometric shock testing machine were used to measure dynamic fracture toughness K Ⅰ d of 35CrMnSiA steel. The condition of different size samples to satisfy status of plane strain and effect of strain rate to K Ⅰ d were studied.
