In this paper,we consider the existence of global smooth solutions to the Cauchy problem for the following nonlinear hyperbolic conservation laws arising in two component chromatography with initial data{ u1+(u/1+u+v)x=0,v1+(v/1+u+v)x=0,with initial data u(x,0)= u0(x),v(x,0)=v0(x).The analysis is based on the diagonalization method and the characteristic method.
