    The researches on coconut germplasm resource of Hainan Province and its importance were reviewed in this study.The classification and characters of coconut germplasm resource in Hainan Province, as well as its development and utilization of were summarized.In addition, some of the problems in researches on coconut germplasm resource and the potential research directions were discussed.
