Based on the characteristics of density current motion and proceeding the mechanism of variation of water body density on the way, the calculation formula for density current was derived, which was applied for siltation calculation of Dayuandu Shiplock approach channel. Through analogical analysis, the siltation distribution calculated according to the formula was almost the same as the real-measured data.
