The effect of energy-saving reconstruction was analyzed for existing residential buildings through the case study on the residential building, at one university in Urumqi. Calculation showed thermal insulation performance of building envelope was improved after energy-saving. The obvious energy saving effects could be obtained from aspects of economic benefit and environment benefit. Contribution rate of energy saving for building envelope is 30%. Energy-saving rate can meet the current standards.
