Based on the field engineering geological investigation and rock mechanics experiments, numerical simulation on excavation process of Yinshan open-pit slope by FLAC^3D, comprehensive analysis methods of displacement variation, velocity vector, plastic zone were used in calculation, and the excavation depth corresponding with slope failure was obtained.
