The broadening mechanism of spectra lines emitted from the plasma produced by a Nd:YAG pulsed laser ablation of Cu target is discussed on the basis of the characteristics of Cu I lines. The electron temperature and density are calculated by using the intensity and FWHM of spectral lines. The temporal and spatial evolutions of electron density are also discussed.
