The method is based on the STF strip theory with the extension of taking into account the instantaneous variation of the wetted hull surface during motions and its effects on the ship hydrodynamic characteristics.The predicted results and ship model experiment data are in good agreement in several ship speeds and wave cases.With this method,the fore sponsons'positional optimization is carried out.
