There are 18 dolphens in total for a piled crude oil jetty for 300 000 DWT tankers in Dayaowan Gulf, out of which 16 dolphens are built on steel tubular piles. In this region, the perennial tidal range is great with high waves and rapid swells as well as frequent typhoons. The application of the GPS-RTK Pile Positioning System for piling for the project and the pile driving procedures are described and the conversion of the ship fixation coordinates to the construction coordinates is also derived.
