At the end of the twentieth century,there occurs a current tide of returning in American society after thirty year's turbulence,rebellion,and confusion.That is a returning of the American Dream which represents the American public's ideality of the American traditional values and morality.At that moment,Hollywood produces a series of movies reflecting the returning of the American Dream,and Forrest Gump is one of the most representatives among them.This paper defines the American Dream at the end of the twenties century as a certain American ideal of returning to the traditional values and morality,and the pristine quality of human beings.And the American Dream out of Forrest Gump is embodied mainly by analyzing the characteristics and qualities of Gump and his experiences.
