This paper briefly introduces the hydraulic research results by the research team of the project named diversion capacity and icing disaster prevention of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project (MRSNWDP) which is supported by the National Key Technologies R &. D program of China during the Eleventh Five-year Plan. Those results are the water diversion simulation platform of MRSNWDP,numerical simulation software development of MRSNWDP, the hydraulic response sensitivity study of offtakes and check gates, control algorithm study of the canal system operated under constant downstream depth, the water level calculation method study on upstream of the check gate of the Crossing Yellow River Project, diversion capacity and control algorithm study of the canal in ice time. The main results can be applied in the operation and management of MRSNWDP.
