With the development of society, the cultivation of innovative talents in the universities becomes more and more important. How to cultivate the innovative talents is a task for unceasingly researching. The importance of innovation ability-building in course teaching of chemical engineering principle was first expounded in the paper. Then to regard the cultivation of innovative talents as the core, use of appropriate teaching methods and teaching means in theory teaching and experimental teaching and curriculum design teaching of chemical engineering principal. Focus should be laid on the cultivation of innovation awareness and capacity of students in the teaching of chemical engineering principle.
