Engineering geology is a specialized fundamental course with very strong practical characteristics in the civil engineering,so the teaching contents and the effect of engineering geology are very important to improve students' professional skills and developing the professional quality.According to the present teaching situation of engineering geology,the common problems are discussed and the effective approaches and specific teaching reform measures of improving the teaching quality of engineering geology are proposed.
