Using matter-element model analysis,comprehensive evaluation on the land intensive use of six cities was made in North Anhui Province.The result showsed that the matter-element model was suitable to assess urban land intensive use,because it could reveal the different information of every single indicator and the middle state information of the whole evaluation.
