弥尔顿的《悼亡妻》与苏轼的《江城子——记梦》均为中西悼亡诗中各自的经典之作。这两首作品虽题材相同,但在诗的风格、艺术表现手法、意象等诸多方面却大相径庭。试图从以上几个方面对比分析这两首作品,并尝试从中找到在这些方面两首诗作的差异所在。

Being a classics of an elegy dedicated to a deceased wife,On His Deceased Wife by John Milton and Riverside Town-A Dream by Su shi,each,with its lingering artistic appeal,has deeply moved readers generation after generation.The two pieces of poetic works deal with the same subject matter-to mourn for their passed away wife.Nonetheless they differ considerably in such aspects as artistic style,techniques of artistic expression,outlook on love and imagery.By analyzing and comparing these two works,this paper tries to examine the differences in these aspects so as to facilitate a better understanding of them.
