Kuangjuan （unrestrained and upright）, as a personality type, means scholars have some outstanding abilities and some characteristics of great eminence. Those scholars who have a wide range of knowledge and are addicted to chasing mental independence are mostly of this type. This article considers that the reason why scholars establish a characteristic of Kuangjuan is not only because of their personal behaviors, but the college atmosphere coming from the Kuangjuan of today＇ s scholars and ancient researchers.
