王赐琏是清嘉庆至光绪年间（1796—1880）万泉县西景村（今万荣县汉薛镇西景村）一名乡村教员。庄户人家出身,六十二岁方得一子,为教育后人尝作《诫子辞》千余言,可同《朱子治家格言》相媲美。《诫子辞》内容翔实,贴近民众生活;语言浅显,讲究押韵对偶。读之朗朗上口,容易记忆。百余年来,民间广为流传,被视为乡村＂家教＂的蒙学好教材。
왕사련시청가경지광서년간（1796—1880）만천현서경촌（금만영현한설진서경촌）일명향촌교원。장호인가출신,륙십이세방득일자,위교육후인상작《계자사》천여언,가동《주자치가격언》상비미。《계자사》내용상실,첩근민음생활;어언천현,강구압운대우。독지랑랑상구,용역기억。백여년래,민간엄위류전,피시위향촌＂가교＂적몽학호교재。
Wang Cilian（1796-1880） was a teacher at Xijing Village,Wanquan County during the periods from Emperor Jiaqing to Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty.He was born in farmer family and he had a son at the age of 62.In order to educate the descendants,he wrote his Letter of Expostulating with Sons which is as famous as Zhuzi＇s Family Instructions.The letter is informative and close to the people.The language in it is plain,rhythmic and catchy.For more than 100 years,it has been very popular in folks and has become a good textbook of family education.
