Through the analysis of the general situation and natural environment of Dayakou Hydropower Station in Zhenkang County, Yunnan Province, the article discusses the characteristics of the water loss and soil erosion in hydropower engineering construction. It also proposes the feasible measures to conserve the water and soil in engineering projects, as part of the efforts to ensure the safety of power generation at the station, which is meaningful to protect the ecological environ-ment.
