A specific wavelet-Z97 wasstudied. The investigation showed that the Z97 has good mathematical properties, and its lifting coefficients were very suitable for software and ASIC implementation. Lots of experiments show that Z97 precedes CDF97 on compression performance , and Z97's computation complexity were obviously lower than CDF97's. So, Z97 is an excellent wavelet for image and video compression technique.
