In the process of internet-based E-business transaction, the partners need to knowthe identity of each other. But how can they know each other on the virtual word of Internet, ainstitution called CA(Certificate Authority) will satisfy the requirement. In this paper the func-tion, structure and security requirement of a CA are introduced. The necessity and the importanceof setting up a CA is also discussed.
