The seam conditions in Daxing Coal Mine is simple and stable. The lithologic characters of the roof and floor are stable. But the geological structures of the seam are complicated. There are about 30 large and small faults in the mine field. There are great changes in the seam thickness. There was serious igneous rock intrusion in the seam. Therefore, the S.702 Coal Mining Face shall reduce its length in order to turn aside a diabantite failure zone. So a stable shall be re-excavated in the middle of the mining face. The stable was supported by a combined support system of bolt, anchor and wire mesh. The face equipment and mining method were also relatively adjusted. Through the adjustment of the mining method, 380 000 t additional coal were mined, coal quality was improved and the maintenance cost for the mining gateway was reduced.
