The paper reviewed the current situation of researching into the variation in main morphological traits of wintersweet flowers and the existing problems in the flower production,discussed the relation between the flower's morphological characters and the classification of wintersweet cultivars,and put forward an index system of morphological description suitable for Waigang wintersweet,providing a basis for establishing a classification system of Waigang wintersweet cultivars.
