在边疆民族地区的经济社会发展中，银行业起着举足轻重的作用。探讨银行业在当地的经济丰十会发展中的作用，这对正在实施的新一轮西部大开发以及边疆民族地区的经济社会发展有着重要的意义。文中以云南省为例，通过运用相关性分析，对云南经济增长与金融发展之间的关系进行实证研究，总结出银行业在边疆民族地区经济社会发展中的作用，并且提出相关建议以促进银行业在边疆民族地区更好的服务。

Banking plays a very important role in economic and social development in minority areas of China. We should make clear what the exact role banking plays in the local economic and social development and any further improvements, which will be beneficial to promoting the western development and the frontier areas. The paper makes an empirical analysis of economic and finance through a case study of Yunan province, with the conclusion that banking industry plays a vital part in the development of minority areas. More suggestions are put forward to better the service of the banking industry.
