The dry excavation for foundation excavation was used to provide the site construction condition in Hambantota port development project, SRILANKA, and slope technique was also applied. The project is characterized by a foundation excavation area of lager than 106 m2, excavation quantity more than 107 m3, water level difference more than 18 m between the one inside the foundation pit and that outside the foundation pit. The paper mainly introduces and summarizes the design and construction of cofferdam, slope, dewatering, slope protection, monitoring, etc., and the innovation point is the adoption of plastic concrete cut off wall to provide the waterproof curtain for the dry construction of quay, which may serve as references for similar projects.
