Urban wetlands are playing an important role in environmental protection and socio-economic development in cities. In this paper, the history and Current Status of Beijing urban wetland area were analyzed based on the latest statistical data. The causes for the decreases of Beijing urban wetlands were identified, and suggestions were made for the protection of urban wetlands.
