Bioinformatics is a new subject produced by molecular biology and computer science combined in the 20th century. The focus of this subject is to use a computer database and computer algorithm to analyze proteins, genes and all DNAs (genomes) of living organisms. The Eriocheir sinensis is a characteristic species of our country. The biological information analysis of Eriocheir sinensis holds enormous economic values. Serine proteinase and its homologue play an important role in crustaceans' immune systems. This study has made a se-quence homology alignment and phylogenetic analysis of the Eriocheir sinensis Serine proteinase and its homo-logue and other species, so as to provide the basis for further development of the Eriocheir sinensis' functional genomics researches, and to lay the foundation for finding and defining any gene or member of the same prod-uct of genes.
