冀西北地区发育有一系列中生代含煤盆地,其中万全白垩纪煤田累计查明煤炭资源量约达10亿t。以往地质勘查成果显示本区煤类均为褐煤,经济价值低。根据近年李虎庄区煤炭普查成果,该区原煤干燥无灰基挥发分(Vdaf)均大于37%,透光率(PM)平均58.77%,最大可达72%,按《中国煤炭分类国家标准》(GB/T 5751-2009),煤类划归长焰煤(CY)。煤质的变化引起了河北省煤田地质学界的极大关注,同时引发了对万全含煤地层时代归属、煤类分区等问题的讨论。依据煤层及顶底板孢粉样品分析结果,将含煤地层暂定为早白垩世早期的西瓜园组。

A series of Mesozoic coal-bearing basins have developed in the northwestern Hebei, among them, the Wanquan Cretaceous coalfield possesses accumulative total measured coal resources about 1 billion tons. The previous geological exploration results have shown the coal ranks in the area are all lignite with low economic value. Based on the Lihuzhuang area coal prospecting results in re-cent years, the raw coal dry ash-free basis volatile-matter contents (Vdaf) are all>37%, average transmittance (PM) 58.77%, maximum can be 72%. According to the“Chinese Classification of Coals”(GB/T 5751-2009), the coal rank should be long flame coal (CY). The change of coal rank has caused great concern in the Hebei coal geological circles, and initiated discussions on coal-bearing strata chronological age, coal rank division in Wanquan coalfield. According to analyzed results of sporopollen samples from coal seam, roof and floor, have determined the coal-bearing strata belong to the Xiguayuan Formation, earlier Early Cretaceous Epoch.
