The luminescence mechanism and preparation methods of rare earth activated alkaline earth metal aluminate or silicate storage luminescence materials were described, and effect of activator Eu2+, auxiliary activator Dy3+and flux on crystal structure and luminescence properties of storage luminescence materials was discussed. Development status and application of new type storage luminescence materials at home and abroad were summarized, and existing problems and development trend of new type storage luminescence materials were discuused.
