The interface of quench water tower is a very important control parameter for the steady operation of ethylene plant. Normally, the interface is measured by displacer transmitter, but in the real situation, some problems may occur. In the article, an improved method that uses capillary differential pressure transmitter to measure and calculate the interface was put forward. How to implement the method and effect of the method were described in detail. And advantages and disadvantages of this method were compared with floating-ball fluid level transmitter method.
