The paper introduces the test plan for energy-efficiency comparison test of the overhead crane, with defini-tions of supply energy, effective energy and energy efficiency, and determines to take the energy efficiency as the index for evaluation of crane's energy consumption level.The energy-efficiency test is performed for two typical overhead cranes with the same model and different speed-regulation means such as rotor series resistance speed and dynamic braking variable fre-quency speed regulation respectively, with further analysis for the test results.
