Precipitation static is an inevitable phenomenon when aircrafts flying in the atmosphere .If it is not controlled properly,the dissipation of precipitation static will cause severe disturbance to communication and navigation,and affect flight safety .The sources and hazards of precipitation static are explained firstly,followed by the protection principle .The main equipment of precipitation static dissipation control,i.e.,the electrostatic discharger,is introduced,with analysis of its shape and components .The methods for calculating the quantity of the electrostatic dischargers and their collocation on an aircraft are also expatiated .Considering the effect of lightening,the installation of electrostatic dischargers on metal and composite surfaces is also described .Finally,the advantages of all composite material discharger are analyzed .
