Based on the analysis of Microsoft Word application"search","statistics"function,this paper researches the main features of VBA automation technology such as Documents,Range and Selection,presenting a format-based character statistics and calculated solution and to be realized in VBA,verifying its practicality and effectiveness in both Word2003 and Word2007.
