北魏太和十九年（495年），孝文帝对度量衡进行了改革，实行度量衡大小制。（1）度量衡小制：1尺＝23．10 cm，1升＝200 mL，1斤＝220 g。小制用于天文、乐律等特定的行业；（2）度量衡大制：1尺＝29．5911 cm，1升＝400 mL，1斤＝440 g。大制用于官府征税和民间日常交易。度量衡大小制影响了中国古代度量衡1300多年。

북위태화십구년（495년），효문제대도량형진행료개혁，실행도량형대소제。（1）도량형소제：1척＝23．10 cm，1승＝200 mL，1근＝220 g。소제용우천문、악률등특정적행업；（2）도량형대제：1척＝29．5911 cm，1승＝400 mL，1근＝440 g。대제용우관부정세화민간일상교역。도량형대소제영향료중국고대도량형1300다년。
In North Wei Taihe Year Nineteen (495 AD),Xiaowendi carried on reform in weights and measures. (1) small system of weights and measures: 1chi=23.10 cm,1sheng=200 mL,1jin=220 g. Small system is used in special industry such as astronomy, music etc. (2) big system of weights and measures :1chi=29.5911 cm,1sheng=400 mL,1jin=440 g. big system is used in government tax and folk daily transactions. This system has influenced Chinese ancient weights and measures for 1300 years .
